Scar therapy can start in as little as 6-8 weeks post surgery/trauma, given that the site has fully healed and is closed with no scabbing, weeping or oozing, and there are no stitches or staples in place. If you are under a consultant’s care, we will write to your consultant prior to commencing scar work to ensure there are no contraindications or specific precautions in place.

No, you can self refer. You do not need a doctors referral if you are a private patient. Your doctor can send a referral on your behalf with additional information if you think this would be helpful, however this is not mandatory.

Absolutely! Both old and new scars can benefit from scar therapy treatment. The number of sessions needed, the frequency of sessions & the recommended treatment plan will depend on the scars age, size, location, how you respond to treatment & what your specific goals are for your scar.

Your treatment will involve mainly manual work, however may also involve the following if/when indicated: Silone sheeting or bands, k-taping, negative pressure therapy using smalls cups, scar wand tools, compression aids, silicone gels, oils and wax.

Prices vary depending on your treatment plan. The length of a standard treatment is 1 hour and all products (except silicone bands) are included in this pricing.
